  • Bob Feldman began working with Richard Maxwell in 1996 in Champions of Magic, followed by Flight Courier Service, Ute Mnos vs. Crazy Liquors, Joe, King Henry IV Part One, Showcase, and Good Samaritans and People Without History. As a jazz saxophonist he has performed with Max Roach, Charles Mingus, Sonny Simmons and many others. He has accompanied poets Allen Ginsberg and Jack Micheline. His 2005 recording Triplicity was named by Downbeat Magazine as one of the best of the year and was heard on NPR and throughout Europe. In 1972 he appeared in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation with Gene Hackman, and in 1976, under the direction of the author, he composed the score for the world premiere of Sam Sheperd’s Angel City. That was followed in 1978 with Shepard’s Curse of the Starving Class at the Public Theatre. He has performed with rock bands, jazz groups and his own trios and quartets all over the United States and Europe.
